The National Asthma Council Australia (NAC) is a collaboration of

• The Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand,

• The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners,

• The Pharmaceutical Society of Australia,

• Asthma Foundations of Australia and

• the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy.

The medical information provided on the NAC website is developed by the health professionals from these professional organisations for use by general practitioners, other health professionals, medical, pharmaceutical and nursing students, and people with asthma.

The medical information and treatment protocols presented such as the handbooks, pamphlets and educational materials are based on current medical knowledge and practice as at the date of publication. Where appropriate, information contained on this site will be supported by clear references to source data and, where possible, have specific HTML links to that data. The date when a clinical page was last modified will be clearly displayed at the bottom of the page.

Funding

The activities of the National Asthma Council are funded from a variety of sources including untied sponsorship from companies working within the general corporate sector. The cost of the NAC website is met from this sponsorship.

The Commonwealth Government and the general corporate sector also fund specific National Asthma Council projects. Funds are accepted only on the basis of full academic freedom to publish current medical knowledge and practice. Sponsor acknowledgment is clearly provided with all activity.

The National Asthma Council website does not accept paid advertisements.
