Respiratory Disease in Primary Care – Quality of care

IPCRG logoThe International Primary Care Respiratory Group (IPCRG) in association with Lunger i Praksis, will hold the 3rd World IPCRG Conference in beautiful Oslo, Norway from 8 - 11 June, 2006.

Planning for the conference is now well underway and the organising committee has chosen Respiratory Disease in Primary Care - Quality of Care as the theme.  This outstanding event, hosted by the National Asthma Council in 2004, is set to continue the excellent level of presentation and interest experienced in Melbourne.

The conference is aimed at all primary care health professionals with an interest in respiratory health, including general practitioners, pharmacists, respiratory nurses, practice nurses, educators and researchers. Topics will cover all facets of respiratory medicine including asthma, allergy, chronic lung disease, tuberculosis, pneumonia, infectious diseases and cough.

Abstracts may be submitted via an online form to the conference website from September 2005 and close on 15 December 2005.

The IPCRG was founded in June 2000 and represents 23 national groups of Primary Care Physicians who have a particular interest in respiratory medicine.

For all scientific, practical and other information please visit the conference website: www.theipcrg.org/oslo2006

A-Teams across Australia

A-Teams Following on from the first A-Teams project, funded by the Department of Health and Ageing in 2002, the National Asthma Council has just completed phase two of its educational program for the 3+ Visit Plan, supporting asthma care in general practice.

The A-Teams concept was developed to provide expert asthma presenters (A-Teams) as resources for Divisions of General Practice and the State Based Organisations of Divisions to utilise for workshops and presentations tailored for their local needs.

From April through June, the A-Teams delivered 37 workshops in association with Divisions of General Practice across Australia. A full report will appear in the July Newsletter.
