The Australian Asthma Handbook (AAH) provides best-practice, evidence-based guidance for primary care health professionals. The National Asthma Council Australia (NAC) is keen to involve suitably qualified GPs with rural practice experience to help develop these treatment guidelines for asthma.
Development of Version 2.0 of the AAH is underway and the NAC is recruiting rural GPs to assist in the revision of the acute asthma section. As one of the main target audiences for the AAH, it is imperative that GPs are represented in these updates to ensure guidance is practical and relevant.
The acute asthma working group is a multidisciplinary panel supported by a medical writer and NAC secretariat. Meetings are held via teleconference and the project timeframe is approximately 6 months.
