Updated Asthma Treatment Levels for Adults and Adolescents Chart

18 Dec 2025

The updated Asthma Treatment Levels for Adults and Adolescents Chart is now available.

The Asthma Treatment Levels for Adults and Adolescents Chart is an essential asthma management resource for health professionals and complements the management and treatment information on the National Asthma Council’s updated Australian Asthma Handbook.

The chart outlines four levels of treatment, from least intensive to most intensive, and lists inhalers and strengths appropriate for each of those levels. Asthma treatment is adjusted to maintain good control of asthma symptoms and prevent exacerbations, while minimising side-effects. The optimal treatment for an individual may change over time.

The Asthma Treatment Levels for Adults and Adolescents Chart was developed independently by the National Asthma Council Australia, with support from AstraZeneca Australia, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK Australia) and Orion Pharma.
