We are delighted to announce that Dr Sanjay Ramakrishnan has joined the National Asthma Council Australia (NAC) Guidelines Committee.
Dr Sanjay Ramakrishnan is a respiratory physician at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and clinician-scientist at the Institute for Respiratory Health, University of Western Australia. He leads the Perth Exacerbation Research Group, an internationally recognised research programme focused on asthma and COPD exacerbations.
His work on the biology and treatment of exacerbations has informed international guidelines and shaped respiratory care worldwide. He holds competitive grant funding supporting clinical and translational research, and has editorial responsibilities with Respirology, Chest and the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
The NAC Guidelines Committee is a multidisciplinary team of leading health professionals dedicated to asthma, including primary care clinicians and respiratory specialists.
The development of the NAC's Australian Asthma Handbook recommendations and clinical information is overseen by the NAC’s Guidelines Committee, comprising GPs, nurses, pharmacists and respiratory physicians.
