Tailored training in a practical setting

The National Asthma Council Australia (NAC) is the national authority in asthma, leading the improvement of asthma care and management through our responsive and evidence-based asthma guidelines, practice tools and resources and renowned education program.

Our face-to-face workshops are tailored to meet the needs of health professionals delivering care in the primary healthcare setting, to correctly diagnose and manage patients with respiratory illness. The NAC presenters are a source of knowledge and expertise in best practice management of asthma and COPD and offer practical skills to support the use of evidence-based procedures and practices.

Workshop format

Workshops are presented by members of the NAC’s team of experts. All material is based on the NAC's Australian Asthma Handbook

Some workshops are recognised by the RACGP, ACRRM and APNA as CPD activities.

Workshop topics

Currently, the face-to-face workshop being offered is the Spirometry Training Course.

This course provides comprehensive training in the application, measurement and interpretation of expiratory spirometry in general practice. The 6-hour interactive workshop includes hands-on components to allow participants to apply their new knowledge in a practical setting.

Attending a workshop

Host organisations are responsible for scheduling, promoting and managing registrations for workshops. If you'd like to attend a workshop, contact your organisation or primary health network to ask about hosting a workshop for local health professionals.

Please note that the NAC does not accept workshop registrations directly. Host organisations must first submit an enquiry to arrange a workshop, and all participant registrations are managed by the host organisation.
