Supporting the Global Allergy & Airways Patient Platform for World Lung Day

23 Oct 2023

We’re supporting the Global Allergy & Airways Patient Platform (GAAPP) to raise awareness for respiratory health. Watch the GAAPP World Lung Day video with 11 global patient advocates coming together to discuss the challenges and solutions for better lung health. Help promote the message to overcome the challenges in lung health.

GAAPP works to globally support and empower patients with allergies, airways and atopic diseases by protecting their rights and insisting on the duties of governments, healthcare professionals and the general public. GAAPP works with healthcare and governmental organisations – such as WHO, EAACI, ERS, GINA, GOLD, WHO GARD, and IPCRG – to improve patients’ lifestyles and reduce the impact of these diseases.

For World Lung Day 2023, GAAPP asked 11 global patient advocates and leaders of patient organisations from 8 different countries and three continents what was the biggest challenge for lung health in their countries.

These testimonials were edited in a short video that GAAPP have made to provided a global perspective on the challenges in lung health during World Lung Day and beyond. They hope that it will be a long-lasting advocacy and awareness tool that will support our efforts to prioritise chronic respiratory diseases with the WHO and its member countries.

The National Asthma Council Australia is proud to support GAAPP and their World Lung Day campaign.
