Welcome Dr Brett Montgomery
The National Asthma Council Australia welcomes new Guidelines Committee Chair, Dr Brett Montgomery.
Dr Brett Montgomery is a general practitioner working in both academic and clinical areas and has been a member of the Guidelines Committee since 2022. He is a senior lecturer at the University of Western Australia where he coordinates the general practice teaching for third year medical students. Dr Montgomery works clinically in East Fremantle in Western Australia and has a particular interest in evidence-based management of chronic disease.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Prof Nick Zwar who served as Guidelines Committee Chair since 2021.
Prof Nick Zwar has been a highly valued and dedicated contributor to the Guidelines Committee over the last six years as both a committee member and committee chair. His leadership, expertise, and commitment have played a vital role in ensuring that the National Asthma Council continues to deliver high quality, reputable, and trusted asthma management information for health professionals across Australia.
Prof Zwar’s longstanding leadership and dedication as chair was instrumental in the ongoing amendments, and recent update and launch of the National Asthma Council's Australian Asthma Handbook V3.0.
