484 Australians lost their lives in 2025 due to asthma, according to new Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) data released by the National Asthma Council Australia.
Comprised of 315 females and 169 males, the figures are almost identical to the 481 asthma deaths recorded in 2024.
The highest number of asthma deaths by state was 168 people in New South Wales, followed by 121 Victorians, 85 Queenslanders, 46 South Australians and 39 people from Western Australia.
